with Special Health Care Needs

What if I cannot afford the program?

The CYSHCN Program also has a financial component, the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Support Services (CYSHCNSS), formerly known as Physically Handicapped Children’s Program. The CYSHCNSS assists families in paying medical bills for children with severe chronic illnesses and/or physical disabilities, between birth and up to 21 years of age, who live in New York State and meet county’s medical and financial eligibility criteria.

Delaware County Public Health facilitates the Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs Program which focuses on children aged five years old and up. In this video, Diane Jordan, occupational therapist, provides examples of fun, simple games you can play at home with your child to help their development. If you have concerns about your child’s development, discuss those concerns with your child’s pediatrician and school team, and contact the Delaware County Public Health Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs Program at 607-832-5200.
