The mission of the Delaware County Department of Social services is to provide economic assistance and opportunity as well as social service support to eligible families and individuals.

The Department of Social Services provides assistance and service support to meet individual and family needs in a timely and courteous manner so they may achieve the greatest degree of self-responsibility and independence possible.

We shall endeavor to understand our clients, assess their needs and service those needs in a manner befitting their individual dignity and self-worth, When all other support structures of society, including family fail.

We are accountable to our clients, the public, and ourselves. We will strive to provide the best and most effective service to our clients in a manner that will most effectively use public resources.
